Summer is here...

Now that we are heading in to the summer months, its time to think about holidays and building sandcastles on the beach!

Wherever you may be holidaying this year Millie Is Wearing have found some of the coolest swimwear out there for girls!

Mini Rodini are well known for their creativity and they haven't disappointed with their SS14 swimwear collection! Millie Is Wearing LOVES this braces design! But behold theres more, they have frilly shoulder swimsuits and bow tie swimsuits and leopard spot swimsuits! All cool enough to be worn as a top too!!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!

Emilie Et Ida as a brand are very modern and very cool. I love this bow pink swimsuit, very simple and very classic! Team with a large brimmed hat, very chic!

The print on this Gardner & The Gang swimsuit is actually of a punk dog called Johnny Cool!!! Its just so amusing that this print works so well on a kids swimsuit, but it does! Wear with DM's and an attitude!

 I love the cut of this Little Creative Factory's vintage swimsuit, very 50's and in such a beautiful colour! Team with a quiff and big sunglasses!

This Nununu star swimsuit is effortless. This is a fun swimsuit, team with big sandcastles built by dad!

Bobo Choses yet again! Yes Millie Is Wearing most blogged about brand have come up trumps with this nude coloured sun swimsuit! Its so happy! Team with ice creams!

Cabbage and Kings have used their logo as the repeat pattern on this swimsuit. Its really pretty and as much as logo pieces can look awful this one is so delicate that it looks very wearable! I love the frill neckline, again not too OTT and very wearable!

Millie Is Wearing are not keen on some two piece swimsuits out there for girls, but the exception has been made for this bright Molo print two piece. This would be great hanging out in warmer climates!

A Millie never changes her spots!

Millie just loves spots! In fact she has tees, skirts, dresses, jackets, dungarees and jeans that are spotty!

  

I love this monochrome outfit comprising of soft cotton spot dungarees and spotty bomber style jacket, I like how the different sized spots and inverted colourway sit so well together!

Teamed with back tights and Millie's ever present bowler hat the spots just come to life!

There are lots of spots out there for children! An extra twist would be to combine spots of different colours as well as sizes together! 

Grey spot tee from Acne

I love this spot tee from Acne, the fact that the spots are random give it a relaxed feel. Team with a black skirt, orange Converse and a orange scarf in the hair!

Polka Dot Cardigan from Zara

This spot cardigan from Zara would work well with other non sport prints! The spots are small enough to not be too over powering!

Capri pants from H&M

This ankle grazer capri pants would look great with a bright crisp white crop top and crisp white plimsols!

Abstract spot playsuit from Stella MacCartney

Even though this is a spot print, it is quite abstract and the shape of the playsuit is crying out for tan leather sandals. Think jungle, think leopards never changing their spots!

Dot skirt from Bobo Choses

I love this little mini from Bobo Choses, I love the colour! This skirt would look great with other bright plain colours! Yellows, oranges, blues and whites! Throw all the colours together and see what happens!

Bright spotty skater dress from John Lewis

This easy to wear dress, is just that! Nothing too complicated here, just throw on a pair of navy DM's and navy beanie hat and an attitude (thats sweet obviously).

Quilted bomber jacket from Matalan

I want this bomber jacket! The light washed denim just has an early 90's feel! Love it!

Swedish Hasbeens

Millie has had Swedish Hasbeens before and she thought she was really grown up in heels, but of course they didn't look like heels they just looked cute! Happy all around!

Millie's were tan in colour, however going on their main site I have spotted these great metallic versions! They come in all manor of differing styles and colours.

Vans

I love Vans, I have always loved Vans from a very young age, when I found out my hero Tony Alva (the skater) released his own design! I used to pretend I was a member of Dogtown and Z Boys (still do!).

Vans have had some absolute crazy designs in the past and these Cat Vans are up there with crazy! Mirroring the trend of all thing psychedelic , these just need to be teamed with very plain outfit, such as black leggings to let the sneakers do the talking!!!

Millie does favour the slip on versions however, as they are easier to slip on and save a lot of time in the morning!

Bensimon

Whether its the stripe ticking design of the lace ups or the slip on classic bold colours you can rely on Bensimon shoes to give any outfit a touch of Italian laid back style!

They are great beach shoes also! We love you Bension!

Pepe

Pepe are an Italian brand that produce good quality fuss free leather shoes! Whether its their Mary Janes or their flat sandals you know that you are getting extremely good quality shoes that will fit well and last and last!

The sandals for SS14 will look great with a girly dress, or if like Millie more or a Tom Boy the wear with ankle grazer jeans for a grown up sophisticated feel!

Millie had a pair of creepers a few years ago for Camp Bestival and the amount of attention she got was so funny! Underground and TUK being the main pioneers, who do cater for children!

Miller

I spotted these Miller shoes some time ago! I fell in love and just need to get them for Millie!

The bright acid green / yellow colourway of this Mary Jane's are just calling out for a pair of navy tights a super colourful dress and a big pom pom head band!

Converse 

Converse Chucks Taylor's have to be the most famous and most popular baseball boot ever! Millie has a pair in all colours (ok some aren't actually Converse) and she wears them for school (opps) and weekends! They go with anything and definitely add a touch of American "preppy" to a look! Very cool for girls of a certain near teen age!

Prints on t-shirts can become something of a on off relationship! There is a fine line for printed tees looking chic and on trend or looking cheap and tacky!

I am slightly in love with this brand, their designs and colour palette for SS14 are perfect! But the main reason really is the use of Unicorns! You can't deny that Unicorns are the coolest illustrations for girls!
