Millie is partying!

Millie seems to be invited to more parties than Paris Hilton could ever wish for!

Party wear for girls can be very pink and very sparkly!!! I have tried to buck this trend a bit and try to open up party wear for Millie so the Barbie look doesn't always have to be the dress code!

For a girl of a certain age (7 years old!!!) their party wear list tends to consist of:

Heels
Fake fur
Dress

So... in response to this I think I have found good alternatives so that she doesn't look like an extra off The Only Way Is Essex!

Fake Fur!!!
You can get a lot of fur type shrugs for girls in all kind of pastel pinky colours with diamond embellishments, which can look lovely but for a funky edge try a shaggier style. This Zara staple was bought a couple of years ago and looks great over t-shirts, coats and jumpers! A shaggier style like this adds a retro feel to an outfit instantly.

Dress!!!
Yes you can have fufu and Millie does have alot of pretty items! But for a change this simple straight cut dress from The Gap, with a simple monochrome dotty design is a alternative that can be dressed up or down.

Heels!!!
For this I have found a great pair of clog style shoes from H&M, they have a little heel but are so cute they are acceptable! Team with cute stripy socks for that Danish chic!

I love girls to be girls and I think they should try out all kinds of pink and sparkle and Millie does love to go to the supermarket as a princess! But I think sometimes a change and twist on what party outfits you can create is refreshing more than anything.

Fashion Week, Parties and a Market.

I have been up to quite a bit since the last time Millieiswearing was last updated

Last week I was invited to a couple of shows for London Fashion Week, which was super exciting! From these shows, strong trends for next year shone through! I will list these trends and filter it down to childrenswear, so to showcase what Millie will wear for SS12!

I have also been busy with the preparations for Millies 7th birthday, shes decided on a festival with wristbands!!!

Talking of festivals and events, I have been invited to a fab kiddies event!

As well as doing this blog, I also create pictures in ornate frames and will be holding a stall selling them! If you are around, come down as it should be a fantastic day!

Primrose Hill Set

A new post of what Millie is actually wearing will be coming shortly! She has just started school after a long summer holiday and therefore trying to settle into the routine again. Look out for the next post coming soon!

I have however been scouting new collections from well known and not so well known labels to share with you all! I hope you enjoy having a look at the pretty inspiring things I have found!

The Primrose Hill set must be over the moon with the new season offerings from Stella MacCartney!

She has created a great new collection for both boys and girls for AW 11/12, taking into account this seasons trends.

Stella has added a few quirky items that will just highlight any wardrobe and offer that kooky styling that only top fashionista's can achieve!

Have a look at the collection I have picked out:

This ruffle tunic will adapt for all kind of situations, a party outfit with bright coloured leggings or casual with skinny jeans!

Military inspired pieces will always have a strong place in fashion whatever the season and this highly embellished jacket will stand the test of fashionable time!

Colour blocking is big news for AW 11/12 and this vibrant dress will look amazing with bright purple tights and yellow flats. But remember the rules for colour blocking; stick to three colours max!

Hiking boots have been a big fashion trend for the underground hipsters and these boots would get their fashion trend seal of approval I am sure!

I have to have this umbrella! It will cheer you and others up in the forthcoming rainy weather we are bound to have!

Ok so your little one has a fantastic array of super cool clothing. But storing everything can be a task in itself, nevermind trying to get your little one to help to tidy up! (ahem)... Well we might have found the solution!
